ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Thomas George and Associates was founded in the year 1998 by Mr. Thomas George. He is a Graduate in Law and holds a Post Graduate in Marketing. He is an expert across multiple areas of law, including Civil, Commercial, Family, Procedural and Criminal Law. Since its inception TG&A has steadily diversified its areas of practice and progressed into a full-service law firm offering efficient legal services to various stakeholders, both national and international representing across industries and sectors.

The Firm has successfully represented its clients in contentious matters in areas of Civil, Criminal, Banking, Arbitration, Corporate and Business law. We strive to provide effective and efficient advice to solve challenges our clients face by balancing the dynamics of their needs and our legal expertise. The members and affiliates of the firm include experienced associates from across the country, with extensive expertise in dispute resolution and large-scale corporate transactions. Our clientele includes a wide spectrum of clients based in India and abroad including finance houses, corporate firms, welfare associations and individual clients seeking legal assistance and guidance.

ABOUT THE MOOT COURT COMPETITION

With the pandemic raging and people limited to their homes, Thomas George and Associates set out to do something unique and engaging for the law students. The purpose and intent behind organizing the Moot was to provide a platform for the law students to hone their practical skills and primarily give them a first-hand experience of what law really is.

It organized its first Virtual Moot Court Competition in the year 2020 with an initial participation of 12 Teams. Since then for every edition we have been growing by leaps and bounds.

The 4^th Virtual Moot Court Competition had 67 participating teams in the Preliminary Rounds. Junior Associates, Senior Associates, and Partners of various law firms Judge the Preliminary and Quarter Final Rounds, while Designated Senior Counsels Judge Semi-finals and Justices judge the Final Rounds. The final rounds of the 4^th Edition was Adjudicated by Hon’ble Justice Smt. P. Sree Sudha and Hon’ble Justice Mrs. Surepalli Nanda. The Firm has also had the privilege of Hosting Hon’ble Sri Justice Mummineni Sudheer Kumar Garu and Hon’ble Justice Mrs. Surepalli Nanda as Judges for Final Rounds in its 3^rd edition of Virtual Moot Court Competitions. It is back with the 5^th edition of its Virtual Moot Court Competition. This time the proposition falls under the broad category of Constitutional Law. 

ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM COMPOSITION

The Team shall comprise of 3 members viz., Speaker No.1, Speaker No. 2 and a Researcher. A college may send a maximum of 2 Teams for participation. Students of all years in either a Five-year Integrated Course or a Three-year Law Course are eligible to participate.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Every Team registering for the participation in this moot has to pay a registration fee of Rs. 750/-The said amount can be paid via Google Pay on +91 8209156354.

After the said Registration Fee is paid, a mail with the following details has to be mailed to tgacompetitions@gmail.com.

1. The Screenshot of payment of Registration fee.
2. The name of your Institute/College/University.
3. The names and contact details (Mobile No.s) of the Team Members.
4. Postal Address of the Team (the Certificates would be sent on this address).
5. Scanned copies of College ID Cards of the participating Team members.

Best Team: ₹ 20,000/-

Runners Up: ₹ 10,000/-

Best Memorial: ₹ 5,000/-

Best Speaker in Prelims: ₹ 5000/-

Best Researcher: ₹ 5000/-

All participants would receive a Certificate of Participation by Post. The winners would receive the Certificate of Merit and Trophies. They would be further presented with Books sponsored by Gogia Law Agency, Hyderabad.
