The selected intern will work closely with the chamber on various legal assignments, including case law research, drafting, and advisory work, under direct supervision.
Key Practice Areas
Interns will engage in diverse legal fields, including:
- Commercial Law: Corporate disputes, mergers and acquisitions, and contractual matters.
- Taxation Law: Advisory and litigation in direct and indirect tax matters.
- Civil Law: Matters involving property disputes, matrimonial issues, and constitutional law.
- Criminal Law: Offenses under the Indian Penal Code, white-collar crimes, and special statutes.
- Other Legal Fields: Exposure to various niche legal issues and interdisciplinary cases.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualifications:
- Law students currently in:
- 3rd year or above of a 5-year integrated law degree, OR
- 2nd year or above of a 3-year law degree.
- Law students currently in:
- Skills and Attributes:
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in legal writing and drafting.
- Familiarity with online legal research platforms such as SCC Online, Manupatra, or similar.
- A proactive attitude and ability to meet deadlines effectively.
Roles and Responsibilities
The selected intern will be responsible for:
- Conducting in-depth legal research on a variety of topics.
- Assisting in drafting pleadings, petitions, and other legal documents.
- Preparing briefs and case notes.
- Analyzing judgments and summarizing key legal principles.
- Assisting in the development of strategies for ongoing cases.
