ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Socio-Economic Review (SER) is the official journal of Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE) and features contributions from around the world. SER’s primary focus is on understanding the socio-political foundations of the economy and the interplay between economy and society. Articles in SER explore how the economy is or should be governed by social relations, institutional rules, political decisions, and cultural values. The journal also emphasizes inequalities and politics. SER receives about six hundred new article manuscripts annually, publishes four issues per year, and accepts about 10% of submissions. Its 5-year impact factor (2024) is 3.6.

ABOUT THE WORK OPPORTUNITY

Socio-Economic Review (SER) is inviting applications for its Board of Graduate Interns. Published by Oxford University Press.

Role and responsibility– Graduate interns will assist with tasks such as finding and evaluating reviewers, organizing book symposia published in the journal, editing quarterly issues, promoting recent articles published in SER, and organizing the SER Café. Interns will participate in online monthly meetings, with a workload similar to that of an independent reading course. Members of the Board of Graduate Interns will be listed by name in the journal’s impressum. Graduate interns will also receive free membership and registration for the annual SASE conference in Montreal in 2025. The one-year internship begins on September 15, 2024.

Eligibility- Applicants must have successfully completed the first two years of their doctoral program in any social science discipline. Prior editorial experience is a plus but not required.
